PPF headquarters is located in Hungary and has 12 factories in Europe, providing products to more than 280 customers in more than 35 countries. Its product range includes private label and branded pet food, including various forms of wet and dry food, snacks and snacks. PPF produces about 700,000 tons of pet food and its revenue in 2023 is about 800 million euros (864 million dollars).

Mars Announces Completion of Acquisition of Veterinary Diagnostics Business in France

Mars announced that it has completed the previously announced acquisition of all of Cerba Healthcare Group's holdings in Cerba Vet and ANTAGENE.

The acquisition of Cerba Vet and ANTAGENE expands and enhances the accessibility of veterinary diagnostic solutions in France, complementing the product portfolio of Mars' Pet Care Science and Diagnostics division.

Cerba Vet headquarters in Marcy, France, is a network of six veterinary diagnostic laboratories in France and Switzerland.

ANTAGENE, headquartered in Lyon, France, is a European leader in animal genetics, renowned for its expertise in DNA testing for big cats, horses and wildlife.

FirstVet, a Sweden-based online pet health service provider, has secured €20 million ($21.4M) in a Series C funding round led by TELUS Global Ventures and existing investors.

FirstVet has partnered with over 60 major insurance companies worldwide, including Nationwide in the US, where it launched in 2020.

Viva Raw recalls dog and cat food products contaminated with Listeria.

US brand Viva Raw LLC is recalling dog and cat food, including Viva ground turkey for dogs, Viva ground turkey for dogs, Viva cat turkey, Viva pure turkey, and Viva beef turkey for puppies, all produced in batch 21,244. There was a “low-single-digit decline” in pet food, a “mid-single-digit decline” in treats and a “high-single-digit decline” in wet pet food.

Blue Buffalo will introduce a functional pet food series.

Recently, General Mills China announced that its pet brand, Blue Buffalo, will introduce a new True Solutions functional food series in China. This series will provide customized nutritional solutions for pets of different body types and health conditions to meet their nutritional needs at different stages.
